Noise Abatement: Please respect our neighbors!

On approach, avoid overflying the villages of “Rottevalle”, “Houtigehage” in the north and “Drachtstercompagnie” in the center of the circuit.

Remain east of the motorway N31 to avoid the urban area “De Wiken” of Drachten.

When approaching RWY07 or departing RWY 25, remain east of urban area “Noorderend”.

Opening hours

Legally, Drachten Airfield may be open ‘during daylight hours in accordance with visibility regulations (VFR).’ This means from 15 minutes before sunrise until 15 minutes after sunset. However, when the airfield is open, an airfield service staff member must be present. Due to the limited capacity of the airfield service, the airfield is open at more specific times.

As indicated in the AIP, in the months April-September circuit flying on Saturday is only allowed between 10.00 and 17.00 hrs. LT. In the same period on Sunday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day and Whit Monday this is only allowed between 12.00 and 17.00 hrs LT.
